Telephones
Due to the topography of the valley, mobile phones are not always able to obtain a signal. There are public phones in all villages, and by using the key marked with an 'L' on a background of a flag, you can listen to instructions for use in the language of your choice.
Albuñuelas: Plaza de San Sebastian: lower barrio near the church
Plaza de Ayuntamiento: upper barrio, near the bank
Melegis: Plaza de la Iglesia (officially Plaza de Eduardo Rebollo Aranda)
Pinos del Valle: Plaza de la Iglesia: upper barrio
Plaza San Roque: lower barrio near pharmacy
Saleres: Plaza de la Iglesia: upper part near church
Restabal: Calle Carretera - main street

Internet
There is an internet cafe in the main plaza in Durcal.

Language: English is not widely spoken, especially amongst the older people. It is therefore very useful to have a decent phrasebook, and as a suggestion, before going to the shops, for example, make a note of words that you might need. The local people are generally very helpful and clearly appreciate it when an effort is made to speak their language.
