Getting to the Lecrin Valley is very easy. We suggest you take the Antequera route in preference to the coastal road because there is less heavy traffic and consequent holdups. However, if you miss the Antequera road and find yourself on the coast road, all is not lost - instructions are included for both!

From Malaga using the Antequera route
Instructions for the N323:

1. Malaga Airport to the N-340:
As you come out of the airport, follow signs for Malaga, go across the roundabout, keep leftish, up and over the flyover and on to the N-340. Stay in the middle lane ready to take the RIGHT TURN off to N-331 to ANTEQUERA. At this stage do not be tempted to follow the signs to Granada via the Ronda de Malaga or the N-340. STAY ON THE ANTEQUERA ROAD N-331. Approximately 10 minutes after the airport, the Antequera road splits Ronda de Malaga or the N-340. STAY ON THE N-331 to Antequera which turns north up into the mountains.

2. N-331 TO A-359:
Approximately 25/30 minutes after the airport, you will see a sign for the A-359 to GRANADA. Take this route. Leave the N-331 and turn right on to the A-359. (The N331 goes into Antequera and you don´t want to do that!)

3. A-359 TURNS INTO THE A-92 TO GRANADA
Approximately 40/50 minutes later on this road, you will pass two large red and white service stations, one on either side called LOS ABADES. Further on you will pass Lachar, Peñuelas, Cijuela and Chimeneas. LOOK OUT FOR SANTA FE.

4. A-92 TO A-329 TO SANTA FE:
Turn off right for SANTA FE. Stay in the middle lane and go over the flyover (the right hand lane takes you into the town of SANTA Fe). After the flyover, slow down for a set of traffic lights. Continue along the A-329 to Granada. Approximately 5 minutes later you will see the Opel dealership on the left and you need to move into the right hand lane for a turn off on to the CIRCUNVALACION DE GRANADA (ring road around Granada). Turn right at the traffic lights following the sign for Motril, it will take you up on to the Circunvalacion.

5. RIGHT AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON TO CIRCUNVALACION TO MOTRIL:
Stay on the Circunvalacion following signs to Motril N-323. Do not turn off the ring road into Granada. Pass the sign for Sierra Nevada, junction 138 for Armilla, 139 for La Malaha and Otura and 141 for Otura/Alhendin. You will now follow the new route south (new N323) to MOTRIL. PASS PADUL (on your left) - junction 144. (NB don't expect the junctions to be totally sequential - they are numbered according to kilometres from a fixed point!) Pass junction 153 and 155 (Durcal and Niguelas).

6. THE LECRIN JUNCTION TO THE OFFICE IN MELEGIS:
You will reach junction 160 signposted Lecrin just past the end of the bridge over the Torrente. Take this turning right off the autoroute and turn right at the end of the slip road, following signs to Lecrin, Talara, Melegis, Restabal. You will pass Mondujar village and then turn right into the one way system; there is a Coviran supermarket on the corner. Turn left at the end of this street and then first right following signs for Melegís and Restabal. At the turning you will see Bar Garvi on the corner on your left and you will pass Bar Nuevo and another Coviran supermarket on your left. Continue downhill, passing the left turn to Chite and further downhill you will enter the village of Melegis. Continue through the village, past Bar Nuevo Valle on your left and a small playground on your right. The road curves sharply to the right and you will pass a terrace of large houses on your right and citrus groves on your left. Just as the road bends quite sharply to the left, you will see the bar/restaurant/hostal Los Naranjos. Park behind the restaurant in the marked car park, our office is to the right of the restaurant, by the car park entrance.

From Malaga using the coastal road:

1. We recommend you use the Antequera road in preference to the coast road because, although there is a motorway as far as Nerja, beyond that the road can be very slow, with heavy vehicles.

2. If you choose the coastal route, follow N340 signs for Granada, passing Nerja, La Herradura, Almuñecar and Salobreña. Just after Salobreña and before Motril, there is a major junction with the N323 from Granada. Turn right off the coast road, go round the roundabout and under the road. This will bring you on to the N-323 to Granada. You will see a garden centre on your right and you will pass extensive greenhouses and orchards. The road takes you through a spectacular gorge and then up into the mountains.

3. Pass the turning for the Alpujarras and Lanjaron. Continue on the main road northwards, until you reach the turning for Lecrin, and take the exit signposted Lecrin 160. Follow the instructions from this point on the previous pages. Turn left under the N323 and then straight on past Mondujar and into Talara/Lecrin.
